It's been a few years since I've read it, but isn't this the CCT that, upon insertion with his partner, was accidentally dropped into a Taliban prisoner camp next to the SF camp? The "I don't see any white faces!" quote in Horse Soldiers. Unless I'm thinking about somebody else, I'd definitely say he had a scary start to the GWOT.
