Conditions of Employment
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- The employee must obtain and maintain a Secret clearance.
- The employee may be required to work overtime.
- The employee is required to work other than normal duty hours, which may include evenings, weekends, and/or holidays.
- This is a Testing Designated Position. The employee is subject to random drug testing.
- This position requires employee to work under adverse environmental conditions.
- This position requires the employee to drive a motor vehicle. An appropriate, valid driver's license is required for the position.
- Work is rigorous. The nature of Special Forces training requires high standards of mental and physical fitness.
- Work involves operating in a field environment that may last up to two weeks at a time.
- Incumbent must participate in SF/SO field training exercises in rough terrain requiring fitness to lift up to 45 pounds, ability to run (up to four miles), walk distances (up to 12 miles) with a rucksack, and swim a minimum of fifty meters.
- Incumbent is required to work with and in close proximity to military standard ammunition and pyrotechnics.
- Incumbent is required to participate in airborne operations.
- Incumbent is required to work with SF/SO weapons, or engineering and pioneering tools and equipment.
- Must be able to negotiate obstacle course requiring incumbent to crawl, kneel, bend, and climb.
