What Are Some Books That Are On Military Reading Lists, But Shouldn't Be?

I have not read Once an Eagle. I've read Message to Garcia, I kinda liked it.

My vote is Starship Troopers (I get the theme, but I just didn't dig the sci-fi part),

I liked Once an Eagle, but it is an ENORMOUS tome, and I'm not sure the protagonist exemplifies the kinds of things we want young officers to emulate.

Same with Message to Garcia. Giving someone a half-assed assignment and expecting everything to go well is a recipe for disaster.

I remember one of the PLs in my company reading The Limits of Power, and other O's complaining about some of the BS books they were forced to sit through.

Message to Garcia is less than 3 pages long. It can stay on any lists that people want it to be on. It's a good notion of self-reliance
