I think I have that book somewhere because all the motivator officers in he chain were like "read this" it will make you more aware. I don't remember finishing the book. I read a lot of books from that period of the War that I just don't remember. And also just like in Heart of Darkness was Mr Kurtz (Col Kurtz in Apocalypse now) wrong?
We have a lot of views on morality, ethics, and depravity, I understand things going off the rails. But throughout various parts of the war he also held ourselves to a completely different moral standard that essentially said the American Soldier (Marine, Sailor, Airmen) had to be perfect. But then we had agency pukes running around doing crazy things that would make your stomach churn.
