AOC could spend decades in government.

I'll never get to "vote her out"
Texans will never get to vote her out
...neither will any of the flyover states
...neither will fans of Joe Lieberman

The only people that can vote her out are the people from nEw Y0rk that worship her "fresh" new approach to politics.
She is the hard lefts answer to President Trump.
The "establishment" on the left doesn't like her for the same reasons the Republican establishment doesn't like President Trump
Her political opponents hate her for the same reason democrats hate President Trump - she personifies the perception of evil-opponent

Those that don't like her better get used to her - I don't think she is going anywhere - anytime soon.
Experience isn't a prerequisite for political office - popularity is the only real prerequisite and her supports love her.

I agree with @Box. Cortez could be around for a long time. Shes a bullhorn for those who advocate for socialism and changing everything which is "wrong" with America. That's a rapidly growing population. Like Trump, she's anti establishment and demands that her ideas are the future and that change actually happens. Also like Trump, if your on the other team you are going to hate her because she's scary and dangerous. I imagine she has a growing loyal base of young socialists.

Out of genuine curiosity, what are your thoughts on Ocasio-Cortez? She's kind of the "it" girl right now for both the Left and Right's spotlight.
She’s great. She’s the perfect foil for the simpering house dems that have been the unfortunate center of party power for too long. More so than that, her policy proposals are positive and activate liberals like none of the other house democrats.

I also like the fact that she is extremely authentic. There is something about having a young Latina woman with a strong Twitter game who, prior to her accession to congress, was tending bar and paying off college loans, that’s very real for young progressives.

You guys get way too upset about your politics so I'll take one for the team and forge some international relations with her.

I reckon Ocasio-Cortez might be able to disrupt the Left’s 2020 run for the Presidency, splintering the Dem primary and pushing it too far Left for the majority of Americans in the middle.

Ocasio-Cortez appeals to a growing potential audience consisting of:

1) university graduates buried in $1.5 trillion worth of non defaultable student debt.

2) low pay, low skill service workers.

3) anyone buried in medical bills or fearful of medical bill related bankruptcy

Her basic math skills suck, but so did Che Guavara’s economic management and soldier skills.

It will likely end in failure for Ocasio-Cortez, but not before she wreaks havoc first pandering to society’s unfortunates and failures like Che did.

At the moment, Ocasio-Cortez is a living “being back our girls” social media meme generator.

But if she can reactivate the leaderless Occupy Movement blob or something akin to it as it’s leader, she could become a significant political thorn.

My guess is that Ocasio-Cortez hurts Dems in the short term by scaring off the majority in the middle, but has potential to gain traction in the medium to long-term if student debt persists; low pay, low skill numbers persist; and medical bill/bankruptcies persist.

Personally, I think it would make sense to fish for:

Female who served in the military with a solid operational record
Parents 1st gen legal immigrants from Latin America, Africa, Asia
Fiscal Conservative
2A supporter
Socially in the middle, Liberal on a few issues.
Small Business success
MILF

Run her as a Obama/Cortez doppelgänger manufactured candidate.

Tulsi Gabbard announced she's going to run, and she's already got super libs mad. She fits most of what you've mentioned.
She had a podcast with Rogan a few months back that's worth listening to

Cheers for that.

She fits the bill, bar 2A and small business experience

Missing out on the shortlist for replacing Senator Daniel Inouye says to me that entrenched Dems don’t like or can’t control her as she was/is a candidate that ticks all the right boxes for Dems superficially.

She seems to hate the 2A and falls right in line with liberal gun control desires.
I'll find a source later, as I'm yeqded out to dinner with the GF and her friends, but I know Tulsi was much closer to center until she was basically browbeat into supporting an "assault weapons" bill earlier this year.

The chances of finding anyone on the left who has a good NRA rating is about zero; I'm fine with someone who wants better methods for monitoring and research vs someone who thinks a ar15 is a machine gun.

On a personal point, I don't have any political issue that is an "all or nothing" type thing for me. I'm more likely to support someone who covers the majority of what I support than I would be to drop them for a singular issue.

People can go to the House and Senate with visions of grandeur and their thoughts on how they are going to right all the wrongs.

But, once they get there and meet with the Senior Senators and Reps...they are given their marching orders and they can either comply or be prepared for a short, useless term.

Politicians are all about retirement and agendas...that is their only goals. They have no care or concern about the welfare of the nation...only their pockets.

The *right* is no better or different than the *left*. They are all corrupt.
