Just finished 13 Hours: The Inside Account Of What Really Happened In Benghazi by Mitchell Zuckoff and the surviving members of the Annex Security Team. This book is written by Zuckoff, but he's relaying events as told to him by the members of the team. This is a very informative read, although tough to stomach at times. The incompetence, political games, and unwillingness to act by those in position to save lives was infuriating. In contrast to that, the heroism and self-sacrifice displayed by the members of the Security Team is nothing short of incredible. The book starts by giving a history of the area, the GRS, the players involved, and recent events. It then moves into the attack on the Special Mission Compound, the rescue launched there, the return to the Annex, and the subsequent attacks on the Annex. It finishes with the Tripoli based team showing up and helping with the extraction effort. I highly recommend this book.
