I want to first say that if this question is out of bounds, let me know because I am new to this community.
I have heard two different stories when it comes to getting picked up by the Air Guard and getting a medical waiver. The first story (from a recruiter) is that it does not matter if you are "selected" after assessment, your unit has no power over getting you a waiver. The second (from another recruiter, different unit) is that the unit gets what it wants i.e. if your issue does not concern the unit, the unit can help you out. Which of these is true? Does it just depend on the unit?
I did not get into specifics of my situation because I wanted to keep the post brief. If you have expertise on this issue and need more information to answer, let me know.
