Not to get the thread off track, but...

Thing about being an officer is that at the end of the day, you have to be happy with the fact that you are a commissioned officer in the U.S. Army. In many ways, freedom of choice in your career assignments goes right out the window. The Army can come down and tell you your functional area from now on is Retarded Dolphin Trainer and you will have to say roger and drive on.

Do the best you can, network, and if you give 100% day in and day out, people will notice and opportunities will come, be they with the Rangers or elsewhere. If they don't... you can always resign your commission if its that important to you. Just don't come looking for me if you regret that one :)
