Army Tier 1 Unit Cancelled?

I've been pretty hard on the SEALs and DEVGRU over their behavior and stand by that. While there are stories out there about ARSOF turds doing turd things, I won't trouble myself over one book. SEALs are practically tripping over each other to snitch on their community and by all accounts CAG does a pretty good job at in house policing. If CAG is so rotten and so broken, why do we only have one book? Look at the stuff Sean Naylor and Annie Jacobsen have published, if CAG was this giant cesspool of humanity we'd have more than one book on the topic. Podcasts, YouTube shorts, magazine articles, books, etc. People will line up to be an "insider" and spill their guts for an author, but this massive murder and sexual assault cult exists and this is the evidence?

Yawn.

Another thought just hit (thank you Toilet Thoughts). These comments, degrading acts, and pervasive harassment didn't drive her off? She HAD to "teach them a lesson" or something because she's a fighter?

Her background and a TS weren't enough to get another job at FORT BRAGG?!?!?!

Yeah, nah. What's the real story?

She sounds like a crazy ex gf. How many leadership cars did she key?

The biggest takeaway is that they apparently don't know how to run front businesses.

Your front isn't just property and paperwork, it's gotta be a real thing. Kinda like how the mob ran restaurants, massage parlors, and other cash businesses.

I tend to think giving interviews about such things violates one's NDA...

The issue with the tone of the overall piece is that the allegation here isn't that some dudes did some things- its' that the entire organization not only allows but supports and encourages the behavior alleged.

Couldn't be further from the truth. Maybe she does have this personal experience. I worked with G and B squadrons, and I gotta tell you- "hard partying misogynists" was absoltuely never a feeling I got from any of those dudes. Quite the opposite, in all regards.

So the guys that are tasked with being the most violent assaulters on planet earth, are rough around the edges? Woah…
Yeah it's almost like the fittest, most tactically proficient, violent males shouldn't be forced to pretend that they fit in normal society while constantly being employed and deployed for the sole purpose of murdering people.

I did some training with the 22nd SAS back about a decade ago. One of their assaulters got in a bar fight…. I was thinking “oh shit they are gonna crucify him” and the dudes were like “nah he will be fine, we need a good tussle now and again”. If he would have been in SF, that would have been an etoh related incident and the very least would be off an ODA. They seemed to think guys that fight to death for a living should be able to get in a bar fight. Blew my mind.

I was on an exchange with Royal Marine Commandos, those guys stayed drunk and fought often. The Marines I was with got 'that' look and I just said, "no."

Edited to add: it seems to a trend with the commonwealth countries where beer is plentiful and normal and the bar/pub/tavern scene is a part of life.

To the article, it's just a load of crap. Have we seen anything similar out of the other units? (ST6, ISA, STS24) Nothing that's been publicized like this. If this was a wide-spread, cultural issue it would have slipped out. Those issues ALWAYS 'slip out'.

They're well on their way to killing that mentality within all branches of the Canadian Armed Forces.

Just one book? Nah, there’s the whole Dale Comstock thing you need to work through alone. Good luck

Bro I worked a lot with the Royal Marines in England- whatever shenanigans you think the American military may or may not do, those are children game level shenanigans. Fun shenanigans. Cheeky shenanigans.

The Royal Marines engaged in levels of debauchery and drunken shenanigans that made me scared for their safety and reputation writ large.

You know sometimes you're in a weird environment and something super weird happens and instead of engaging you just sort of, look around? Try an gauge if this is a normal occurance or if it raises anyone else's eyebrows? That was a multiple-time event every single night I ever went out with them.

This sounds a lot like the "Dick-Pic Six" scandal from a few years back.
