So a legal entertainment spot gets put on a mass mailing list of contributors to an annual golf tournament. Said tournament is a benefit for their best source of customers (local Navy boys), and the CO and master chief get fired?
That's a ridiculous reason to ruin someone's career. If the Navy doesn't want some of their own payroll back then just have that business taken off the list.

I don't see it as detrimental to good order and discipline, as long as the clubs contributed cash and not free lap dance vouchers or the like.
As @Dame already stated, the clubs are legal businesses and should not be treated differently from a sandwich shop or bowling alley. The exception would be if a particular club had been placed on the off-limits list, but there's no mention of that in the article.
