My brush his greatness: when I was a kid, junior high so 1983-84, I had a friend whose father was in SF, an officer at the JFK center (last name Barcena). I was visiting my friend and his dad took us to lunch, had to stop by work. I met COL. Howard briefly. Very nice, very kind, exuded generosity and humility.
