Delta Raid Into Syria Sends Important Message

I'd bitch and yell that I should get back that year of my life I spent in downtown Ramadi, but all the Marines, Soldiers, and contractors that died trying to help the Iraqis there aren't getting shit back, so I'll keep my mouth shut.

It infuriates me that we shed so much blood, sweat, and tears in that shit hole of a city, only for it to be reconquered less than 5 years later.

What was the fucking point if we were only going to quit before we finished? :-/

Preach it, brother. I've asked myself that same question so many times I've lost count.

When I was referring to the West, I wasn't necessarily speaking about the US. The EU must act to ensure isis doesn't establish a caliphate, because they have in their sights.

Yep, Europe is in far more danger than the likes of the USA/OZ/NZ/Canada etc...

Obviously there was a massive intel and logistical mission prior to the door kickers going in, to assure mission success. Them guys deserve some recognition as well .

After watching Sky News yesterday it is very evident the West had better get the finger out, considering isis are now only 50 odd miles from Baghdad and on the cusp of taking over another major city..

Why I hear you say?? Well, I believe isis, without any sort of intervention will get motivated to continue their expansion, into regional countries.. Lebanon is currently trying to prevent isis incursions from the North and believe it or not, Hezbollah are the reason they haven't consolidated in Lebanon.

If Hezbollah capitulate, and isis get a foot hold in Lebanon, it could cause a major destabilization in the region.

Come on, you know how this game works, everything is either an operations success or an intel failure. There is nothing in between ;)

ISIS and extremists in general are why the UAE has become so heavily involved. The UAE has other motivations behind their presence and I think they are well founded. I will say they are probably the best friend the US has in the region. While they may not share a border with the affected countries they are aware of and working against ISIS' expansion.

These extremist groups are a dime a dozen. IS is the best horse for the race at the moment. Their (ISIS) flaw is claiming the caliphate established under caliph al-Bagdahdi. They follow old school Wahabbist teachings dating back to the original methods of Muhammed. Anything against this, Sunni or Shi'a, gets the poor bastard labeled an apostate and the green weenie ensues via sharia law.

What does this mean? To my understanding once their little prophecies start getting debunked, however difficult that may be, they'll start to fall apart. Sure they're strong against Iraqi's but they barely hold against Kurdish.

They have yet to throw down with Team America - if they do, Iraq or Syria will strike gold in the worm shit business.

These groups only come into power in the absence of a governing authority or through a power vacuum. The middle east will always be in turmoil and ten years from now it'll probably be some other savage jihadist group in some other shit hole. Probably in Helmand somewhere.
