Brevity is the game:

USMC, 0351 (assaultman)
Aspiring MARSOC operator following first enlistment (early FY 16')

In need of a mentor, and fellow trainees who are putting out incredible times.

Entered Marine Corps in hopes of eventually joining MARSOC. After first year of fleet life I gave up on the idea because, well, I hated the fleet for all it's lazy people and double standards. Realizing I'd live the rest of my life wondering "what if" if I didn't try, so I'm going for it.

Comfortable in the pool but never heard of anyone being too prepared. Worried about ruck runs (just slightly) because of lower back muscle pain. Working on strengthening that. Expecting to attend A&S JAN2016.

Hobbies: voracious reader, writer, and connoisseur of coffee and craft beer. Also, action sports aficionado: mountain biking, rock climbing, snowboarding, etc.

Bellringer, thanks brotha. Love the concept of SS, hoping to see the ideals fruition. Really hoping to join a community of guys training with MARSOC as their goal, we'd all be stronger, faster, and last a bit longer if we trained together.

Welcome to SS. Good luck completing your goals. This is a great place to be.

Welcome to ShadowSpear, Leatherneck! I hope you the very best success with your future plans.

Welcome.

Have you had your back looked at by a Doc? Especially with ruck running, you can obliterate a disc in no time; speaking from experience.

RackMaster, I haven't had it checked. It wouldn't hurt to do, the problem feels more muscular than skeletal. But you're right, better to prepare for the worst than assume the best. I'll work on setting up an appt ASAP.

Thanks all for the greetings. I'm very impressed with the SS community.
