Now that I am no longer a console user, I am looking for a new gaming computer....there seems to be some good pre-builts out there, like CyberPowerPC, iBuyPower, ASUS, Alienware..etc.

Any thoughts from you tech savvy guys?

I am looking for something under 2k range.

My level of games would be Destiny 2, COD, Battlefield type games.

I was looking at these...

or

Customize Prebuilt Gaming PC GML 99707

or even this one, but would add some more RAM

Thoughts?

So, maybe it's not as daunting as it appears...

looking at https://pcpartpicker.com/ now....and some how to videos too :-)

Having used that site for a few builds in the past, one thing to look at are other builds using whatever part you decided on. A case, mobo, cooling solution, etc. You can see how everything fits and read what people say about their builds PLUS the comments about the original part. If someone's complaining about...memory height clearance on a cooler or whatever, you can see what others did.

I'm guessing if you are replacing a console for this, you'd want it to be more aimed at gaming? definitely do a lot of research.. maybe have a conversation with chatgpt also on what you are looking for. Keep in mind that if you were just wanting something to just browse the internet, the new minipc options out there are amazing.

If gaming, make sure not to be cheap on the GPU.. I'd suggest anything in the $500+ range. The RTX 5060 Ti or greater is probably fine. If you are going prosumer side, you won't even be able to find a 5090, but I wouldn't even think of that unless you were doing some AI/ML stuff on the side
