Hi, I am a college student studying mechanical engineering and am very interested in the military, specifically the special operations community. I am joining the site to learn and gather as much information as I can. So I will be lurking for the most part. No I go to a school a little further south in VA, Its a good school one of the top engineering schools in VA.

Should have gone a little further south. I hear there's an even better engineering school down in Raleigh, NC. ;)
I can imagine out of state tuition would have been atrocious though.

NC state? I don't recall where they fell, I'm sure they were fairly high on the ranking. Yea, out of state wasn't really an option for me its a bit ridiculous. Some people do it tho, I met a girl who came to VA from NH to study music my first year. So.....
If I recall correctly UVA was one of the top tens, unfortunately with my high school performance that was not an option either.
