Hello all. My name is Rich and I am 39 and a former Marine Corps Logistics Officer. I served 12 years total, 3.5 in the reserves as an MP and then after college I went to OCS and served 8.5 years as an officer, getting out as a Captain. I served with 2d Tank Bn for the better part of three years before getting promoted to Captain. I went on to serve as an advisor to the Iraqis out in the border lands for two years It was during that time I got a taste of SF world via doing some training and a couple of support roles with HUMINT guys attached to my team. Working with HUMINT and former SF guys really appealed to me but I was too old at the time to go through selection for MARSOC and never thought to look at other options until now.
I'm here because I've been out for four years now but have been thinking of joining the NG with a hope of getting in on the SOF Support side of the house. I'm not sure about my chances though with all the cutbacks happening, but you never know.
