Hello from New York!

My name is Marco and I am currently attending college to become a nurse. On my journey to decide what I wanted to do with my life, I stumbled across an AFROTC pamphlet and ever since then it has become a goal of mine to serve in the military so I can give back to the freedom that civilians like myself take for granted. I want to do SOF right after college and I am currently being drawn towards being a medic. I have no service branch preference but I really want to go to Airborne School and graduate from either SOCM or the 18D course since the curriculum closely that of my school's nursing program was drawn to this site after looking for some resources on SOF and the mentoring program seems like a good place to test the waters and continue my research.

Welcome. First off your nursing experience will be good, but I doubt it will help you much in any of the hands on stuff in the SOCM course. In fact many paramedics and nurses have a harder time than cherry 18X's. Also in order to attend the 18D course you must attend Selection, get selected and then attend te Q course.
