First off I want to say" thank you "for providing a place to gain valuable and credible information, for myself especially since I have been looking some guidance about my next move in my career plan. I am soon to graduate from a medical assistant program and thinking about the navy or army as career path in my medical education. I have a serious interest diving and diving medicine is become more of a focus for me. I have always wanted to apart of special forces and learning more about It I haven't changed my mind. The responsibility that's placed on a persons shoulders, to perform a job and be expected to take care of the details and to get done say a lot about the confidence placed in that person say a lot and I aspire to that.

( I know a profession of arms is not really a profession associated with healing but I'm wondering if this is a relevant choice considering a career in medicine).

Welcome to the site.

I'd like to see you post the last part of your intro

into one of the medical forums as a new thread. As a former SF medic I'd like to know how you formulated this thesis... Military medicine is and has been at the cutting edge (no pun intended) of trauma and long term care ... look at the contributions to medicine that were started by the Military most notably since the US Civil War, but even before that... like the care provided by the original Red Cross.

Thank you, everyone for the welcome into the forum. To Sf medic I would like to apologize. I know I'm speaking from a place of inexperience and I hope that my comment hasn't disrespected anyone. I'm here to learn.

Just get it up in the proper forum, and it will spark good discussion and a ton of learning points... we have a wealth of medical resources on here, and they'll be willing to broaden your perspective if you're willing to learn.

No butthurt here, and no disrespect taken... big kid rules, though, make a statement and be able to back it up, or get schooled by the others on the playground.
