I'm a retired AFOSI Special Agent (AF guys - don't run and hide...I've been retired so long that I don't know any current SAs). Spent 13 years in OSI, working with some incredible people from a variety of walks of life and military specialties. Put some bad guys in jail, but found the greatest satisfaction was working with other folks whose jobs were also "special." Guys from the PJs, CCT, CW, TACP, Rangers, SF, SEALS, and EOD all passed through my life, and I'm certainly better for it. Also spent time as an Air Force Law Enforcement Flight Chief, an Aeromedical Evacuation Technician, an Army Personnel Specialist, and a Target Acquisition Radar Operator. I had the honor of getting to know (then) LtCol Wayne Downing while on active duty in the Army at Ft. Lewis because he was a good friend of my boss, the Division Artillery Commander, and I lived among many of the 2/75 Rangers and their families. I've been around special operations folks for almost 40 years.

My main interest in this forum comes from my current assignment as the Commander of Group IV, Texas Wing Civil Air Patrol/USAF Auxiliary . Located in southeast Texas, it is the largest Group in all of CAP, and I have the privilege of being responsible for leading more than 400 CAP Cadets and another 400+ Senior Members in serving the community and in developing leaders for tomorrow. As a part of the command function, I regularly deal with Air Force and Air Guard personnel, and have been lucky to develop a relationship with the PJ/CRO Indoc Course faculty at Lackland AFB. With their help, we're working to develop a CAP program to help our Cadets succeed in the Special Tactics pipelines, and that's where I come seeking help from members of this forum. Our goals are to help those young men develop the positive mental attitude and physical abilities to exceed expectations before arriving at indoc. A secondary goal is to help reduce the washout rates at ST pipeline courses, which would save the Air Force some money, and help meet the increased need for Special Tactics Airmen.

In my civilian life, I am a security consultant focusing on critical infrastructure such as oil, gas, petrochem, maritime, rail, and transportation. And last, but not least, I'm also a United Methodist Pastor.

Thanks for the opportunity to join ShadowSpear!
