Hello!
My name is Amar, I am 19 and joining the army. My dream is to become an army ranger and I will do anything needed to achieve that dream. Joining the army was a calling for me, I tried out college and it wasn't my cup of tea. Call me crazy but I have this crazy unsatisfiable desire to protect as many people as I can, which is maybe why I played as an O-lineman in high school football.
So I did what was needed; left college, pissed off my family, hurt my friends and talked to a recruiter. I am taking the ASVAB next week, I took many practice tests and got a 70 range on all of them.
I am a fit guy, very strong but I suck at the PT test. I can do one arm pushups and bench twice my bodyweight but can only do 30 pushups in a row without needing rest. I am "fit", but not military fit. And running? Ha, that is something I am pit full at, but not for long. The only thing that concerns me is swimming, as that is something I cant do but am going to start taking lessons for and spend 5-6 days in the pool. I can do 6 chin ups.
My goal is to get a 270 BEFORE I go to basic, and throughout basic and airborne do extra PT and get as close to a 300 as I can. I am 100% dedicating my self to this now, I will become a US army ranger or die trying.
Thank you for reading, I am excited to join this community and I have read enough posts to see that there is a wealth of information here for me.
