Jeff Gonzales 2-Day Level-1 Combative Pistol - May 16-17, 2015 - Dallas, TX
The Combative Pistol, Level One (CP1) is a basic 2-day course that will introduce the combative fundamentals forging process for the tactical employment of a pistol in high-risk situations. It will instruct the pistol’s core operating skills by balancing direct supervision with moderate repetitions to start forging correct technique. The course will develop correct shooting habits and introduce challenging drills that will improve the student’s basic marksmanship. Graded evolutions throughout the course provide instant feedback to the student on skill development, technique deficiencies and overall ability.
Terminal objective:
Upon completion of the Combative Pistol, Level One (CP1) course, the student will successfully qualify with a 70% or better on the final Standards Test using a tactical pistol firing duty ammunition with iron sights.
Enabling objectives:
• Demonstrate knowledge and application of safe weapons handling skills
• Demonstrate knowledge and application of nomenclature and manual of arms for the pistol.
• Demonstrate knowledge of basic pistol equipment to include sturdy belt, holster and magazine pouches.
• Demonstrate knowledge and understanding of tactical safety procedures.
• Demonstrate knowledge and understanding of the Warrior Mindset.
• Demonstrate knowledge and understanding of the Combat Shooting System™.
• Demonstrate knowledge and understanding of anatomical target zones.
• Demonstrate knowledge and understanding of the Marksmanship Training Program™.
• Perform preparatory marksmanship training exercises.
• Perform ready positions training exercises.
• Perform drawstroke training exercises.
• Perform malfunction clearance and combat reloading training exercises.
• Demonstrate knowledge and understanding of shooting while moving tactics.
• Perform shooting while moving training exercises.
• Demonstrate knowledge and understanding of multiple threat tactics.
• Perform multiple threat training exercises.
• Demonstrate knowledge and understanding of the various forms of cover or concealment.
• Perform use of cover training exercises

Weapon & Gear Class Requirements:
• Tactical pistol (9mm caliber or larger)
• 1,000 rounds of functional pistol ammunition
• 5 pistol magazines minimum
• 5 inert training rounds (no A-Zooms)
• Training uniform; long pants, comfortable shirt, athletic shoes and a ball cap
• 1st Line gear: Rigid belt, Sturdy holster, Magazine pouches, Dump pouch
• Clear wrap around ballistic eye and hearing protection
• Hydration system and energy snacks
