So just a little about myself. I am currently serving with the USMC (Uncle Sam's Misguided Children) but i'm definitely looking to see what's further down the rabbit hole ;-) I am school trained Scout Sniper and worked as a 3D BN Force Recon Point Man.:ninja:

Ah, brings back memories of traipsing around the jungle at JWTC.

Learning to point in Oki's serious veg after building my landnav skills on the bare terrain of Pendleton was pretty rough. During my first training mission in my first team I was point man in the CTA, trying to navigate our team over about 800m (straight-line distance) to an ORP nearby the combat town. I managed to get us lost and stuck crossing a chest-deep 'swamp'. I was just waiting for my TL to take over and get us back on track... He didn't - forced me to deal with the situation.

I learned how to forget dead reckoning and do some adaptive, cardinal direction navigation in a hurry! Being pointman at 3rd laid the foundation of my Recon career.

Welcome aboard!

Welcome. 3D BN? I assume you mean the Force Recon Company at 3rd Recon Bn.

yeah the worst part about the J is how close you have to get to the objective in order to report on it. Its wild.
