Good morning/afternoon/evening everyone.
First off, my username is not actually my real name, it's an alias that I will credit the TV show "Dexter." That's where I got it from.
Anyway, I found this website as an advertisement on Facebook. I've read through all the rules and have been researching a ton on the SOF community. There's a ton of information so after this, I probably won't post much. I see too many people asking questions that can be found easily so I'm going to do my own research so as to not incriminate myself.
I became interested in the SOF community in the school house. I've been in the Marine Corps for almost 2 years though I'm still boot, per usual in the Air Wing. My MOS school was about 9 months long so I haven't been in the fleet very long at all. But anyway, back to the SOF Community.
When I say I've grown an interest in the SOF Community, I will admit that I'm not entirely sure. From what I can tell, it's got an allure to it that only one who is actively engaged in can understand and articulate. Sure, I think some of the things SOF guys do are "badass" and "cool" looking - but that's not what comes to mind when I think of potentially looking more into the SOF Community. The closest thing I can attribute to my interest is my desire to do more. Yes, I completely "get it" that when we're needed, us "POGs" do contribute. Nonetheless, I personally feel that my job is somewhat not needed. Hell if I posted my job, I don't think many people would even know what it is or what I do. That seems to be the best way I can explain it - I want to contribute more than I am now. I want to have the satisfaction of knowing that not only me, but the guys I was with accomplished the mission.
I think that pretty much sums it up for now. If anyone has any questions or comments, I'll be happy to answer them.
Thank you, have a great day.
