What brought me here is I'm trying to find the location of some information that I found on here some years back.

Original link, which is dead.

This all happened at Camp Justice, Masirah Island, Oman.

The story dealt with a baseball bat (Taliban Thumper) carved from a piece of dunnage by one of my troops. He gave it to a group of Rangers, I believe, on one of our birds. They in turn signed it and it was given back to him.

There was blurb about it on here, that I stumbled onto accidentally. I sent the link to him, knowing he would be thrilled see his bat in print. I should have screen captured the blurb also, but I didn't.

So I'm trying to learn if this was in a book or an online article or what, or if anyone recalls the story....?

The bats owner has reached out to me recently to find out where he can find that story on his bat. I found the outdated link above on an older cell phone of mine just a few days ago.

Big shout out to locksteady he found what I was looking for. For prosperity here is the bat (Taliban Thumper) that the Rangers signed for him.

He carved it out of a piece of scrap dunnage using a Gerber Gator knife. He also carved a duck decoy and boat while we were there. It gave him something to do and kept him out of trouble
