New guy here hoping for some solid advice.

I'm new here and early on in training. Ive wanted to try for Recon or MARSOC A&S. Talked to a few from both communities and said either would be a great opportunity. I'm still a young Marine so I have plenty of time to prepare. So as of now I'm just lifting and getting used to running again (recovering from a few misdiagnosed stress fractures in the last year). What kind of workouts or programs would be a good start? Running with weight, hikes, or swimming tips would be great since I hear those are the real nut kickers. Any advice or tips on any of the above would be greatly appreciatedsince as an air winger I rarely get the opportunity to pick the brain of an active member. Thanks for your time. If you need to know more info then just let me know and I'll get on it. Thank you.
 
As an Admin here I'm going to help you and kick you in the nuts a bit. This topic is covered on here in numerous threads. Yes there's a lot to wade through, but you have some time and even the threads which are close may provide something.

There's no simple solution and we have enough workout gurus here, and not "bro science" guys, where you'll find quite a few threads with different themes, answers, questions, and solutions.

A friendly nudge:
Go to the main page, enter workout in the search "box" and you'll see something like 10 pages of results. Go to the Marine SOF section and look at the A&S threads. Fitness and Nutrition, this section, and the mentoring area should have info as well.

If you go into one of those subfroums, say Fitness and Nutrition, and search for workout it should only return posts within that subforum. Maybe that will help narrow your focus...but you still have a ton of reading to do.

I apologize for that, after posting it I went back to delete the thread and couldn't find out how. Dig deeper I will, thank you.
