FORT CAMPBELL, Ky. (USASOC News Service, May 21, 2008) – The 160th Special Operations Aviation Regiment (Airborne) held their annual memorial ceremony honoring the Night Stalkers who gave their lives in the line of duty in a ceremony at Fort Campbell, Ky., May 21, 2008.
For the first time since the unit began supporting the War on Terror in October 2001, there were no new names added to the memorial wall. In a solemn few moments, Soldiers read the 80 names on the memorial wall.
In final tribute, five 160th Little Bird helicopters provided an aerial salute to the fallen Night Stalkers by flying over the ceremony in the traditional Missing Man Formation.
