SWEET.MOTHER.OF.GOD.
Can the entitled elitist class of amErican oligarchs be any less self aware - or any more full of shit than THIS fucking guy? Can somebody smart help me understand this preachy self righteous asshole?
Alex Karp, a self-styled modern-day philosopher with an Internet Masters Degree in Corporate Morality, has uncovered some groundbreaking data and we should all sit up and listen. His message?
Poor people are the sacrificial lambs of society, while the rich executives are the untouchable gods of Olympus, immune to consequences.
Wow. How is it that nobody else in the civilized world has ever noticed this trend until now?
This arrogant cock sucker was speaking at the New York Times' annual DealBook Summit when he blessed humanity with his insights. For the unwashed uneducated masses, the DealBook Summit is a pat-each-other-on-the-back gathering of global elitists, billionaires, celebrities, politicians, and other influencers. The tickets for this shindig go for anywhere from $2,950 all the way up to VIP packages costing $25,000.
HOLY.FUCKING.SHIT.
How disconnected from the reality of your bullshit musings can one actually be as they sit in front of a room full of filthy rich fucking elitist corporate pricks while pretending that delivering his sermon from the mount is a game changing testament to his wisdom and foresight?
FUUUUUUUUCK You Karp.
Now, let’s unpack this masterpiece of corporate self-awareness…
…he laments that "poor people" are the only ones paying the price for being wrong. A bold statement, coming from the CEO of a company that has made billions selling data analytics to governments and corporations; tools that, unless I’ve been using someone else’s software over the years, certainly don’t prioritize the plight of the poor.
But hey, at least he’s aware of the problem, amiright?
-That’s half the battle, isn’t it?
-Isn’t it
…even if he doesn’t realize that people like him are the “other” half of the problem.
But why bother to solve the problems of the poor – or even the not so poor – or just the run of the mill citizen - when you can just wax poetic to a room filled with billionaires and corporate sycophants about systemic inequality while cashing in on hundreds of millions of dollars in government funded contracts (paid for with the oppressed poor people’s tax money)?
…all the while bashing other businesses that get money from the government.
Now, I’m not saying that this asshole - and other assholes - cut from the same cloth - are not entitled to the fruits of their labor. Not at all. Build a better mousetrap and the world will beat a path to your door. Just don’t sit up there on the dais and fucking preach to us about the plight of poor people and the oppressed.
Karp’s disdain for corporate bailouts is almost touching. He wants us to know that he is outraged that business leaders make "stupid decisions" and then run to the government for help. He wants us to know that HIS company – a noble paragon of righteousness in the murky evil of silicone valley - absorbs the "full risk" of its failures. Nothing like a long history of profiteering from government contracts to illustrate the epitome of rugged individualism. Folks like Daniel Boone and Sam Houston would be proud because nothing screams "self-reliance" like being a key player in the military-industrial complex.
Just kidding. Fuck you Alex – fuck you right in your stupid asshole you self-righteous prick.
Oh – and let’s not forget one of brilliant solution ideas:
-cap the salaries of executives who beg for government money
Revolutionary thinking there Alex.
-Nothing motivates corporate accountability like being forced to party on a smaller corporate funded Yacht than the one your competitor is partying on.
-Nothing communicates that any given company absorbs the full risk of its failures by flying their associates around in a Challenger-350 instead of a GulfStream-700
I have an idea:
all CEOs that make “stupid decisions” should be forced to live in slightly more modest mansion in the immediate fiscal years after a profit loss or blown delivery deadline. Maybe moving your wife and two kids into a 10 bedroom mansion instead of a 20 bedroom mansion will get them back on the road to fiscal responsibility.
That’ll teach them.
Just don’t touch HIS paycheck – because HIS company doesn’t make stupid mistakes. When HIS company has a kerfuffle the respons is always the classic "we are just misunderstood geniuses"
I just can’t get past this pricks commentary on the plight of the poor…
"If you’re poor and you’re wrong, you go to prison or you die"
The lack of awareness is bad enough – but these mother fuckers say this kind of shit with the confidence of an astronomer that just discovered a new comet.
Meanwhile, the rest of us are all guilty of "outsourcing" our stupidity and incompetent business acumen to the poor that are trapped by systemic inequality.
If only we could figure out how to stop outsourcing stupidity and punishing poor people.
…maybe those mother fuckers at Palantir could develop an algorithm that solves poverty
…as long as it doesn’t cut into their profit margin
Wealthy hypocrites like this want us to believe that they Palantir is the Robin Hood of the military industrial complex - stealing from the rich (data) and giving to the poor (governments). The problem is, they are serving the wrong demographic – and clearly, in this paradigm, Robin Hood charges a hefty consulting fee.
His speech is a masterclass in corporate self-righteousness. He paints himself a the hero (that nobody asked for) and then he points out society’s flaws, while conveniently sidestepping his own company’s role in perpetuating them.
At least he’s honest about one thing:
Poor people really do pay the price – while rich people like him sit in judgement – consequence free.
Happy Holidays Alex
