I'm looking for a mentor to help prepare me for the Army's active duty Psychological Operations, unfortunately, I completed AIT recently, and as a result I cannot contact any of my AIT cadre for a minimum of 6 months.

I'm currently 19 years old an E2 in the Army Reserves as a PSYOP Specialist, and while I was going through AIT, all of our cadre encouraged us to attempt the active duty course when we had the chance, I loved every part of what I did, however they also told us that the differences between the active and reserve side can be night and day. So I'm also looking for a bit of information on more about what the active duty side does, and how I can prepare for the POAS and POQC. I also have a couple more specific questions regarding training, funding, daily life and schools.

I already have a DD-368 packet going up, however, regardless of whether it's accepted or not, I intend to keep trying and continue preparing myself.

Thanks in advance.

I'm in a similar boat actually. Personally I've figured it's just be fit, ya know good at rucking get after daily in your workouts, eat right, don't get drunk every weekend all that good stuff. Then when you get to POAS just be yourself, don't quit, be a good dude. If you're the guy they're looking for they'll pick you up if not then it is what it is. But POAS is a lot of mental stuff, physically do able for must. Being an effective communicator and having a college level education is key I've heard. But hey hope the DD-368 has gone through since you've posted this, I've heard those can take a while. Good luck, I'm sure you'll be fine if you get after it.
