Hey everyone.

Trying to compile a reading list for those interested in the CCT career field (such as myself), and wanted to also get feedback from anyone out there who has happened to read any of these books. Also, if you have any to add to the list, please do so, because from what my research has turned up, there is not a ton of literature on the CCT career field when compared to other SOF lines of work.

For the record, at the time of posting this I have not yet read any of these books, but I am looking to perhaps get some input from members here which may help with which ones to purchase and read first.

1) My Brother in Arms: The Exceptional Life of Mark Andrew Forester, United States Air Force Combat Controller (http://www.amazon.com/My-Brother-Arms-Exceptional-Controller/dp/1492734020/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1464920295&sr=8-1&keywords=combat+control)

2) CCT - The Eye of the Storm ( http://www.amazon.com/C-C-T-Eye-Storm-Gene-Adcock/dp/1477269967/ref=pd_sim_14_3?ie=UTF8&dpID=51vsRaQ4fPL&dpSrc=sims&preST=_AC_UL320_SR240%2C320_&refRID=0FWVD4CKY3Y4JG8XYASV)

3) Danger Close: Tactical Air Controllers in Afghanistan and Iraq. NOTE: This books seems to be focused on TACP, but from reading the description it sounds like it would give a reader some good insight into a JTAC oriented career field (http://www.amazon.com/Danger-Close-Controllers-Afghanistan-Williams-Ford/dp/1603441425/ref=pd_sim_14_4?ie=UTF8&dpID=51M4DKmjccL&dpSrc=sims&preST=_AC_UL320_SR214%2C320_&refRID=125WX03CD19G945A8W2R

Does anyone else have any to add to the pile here? Thanks in advance

Going CCT does not guarantee that you will be a JTAC.

Good point,

I was aware of that but others interested in CCT may not be.

That said, given that one could obtain JTAC qualification as a CCT I figured it would/could be a good thing for those like myself to read up on.

CDG, what percentage would you say aren't JTAC qualified....?

I got to know one (Blue skies, Casey) who wasn't a JTAC, but this was 2005. He said there were others but they were a minority. That was a long decade ago and I don't know what, if anything, has changed. Given the list of requirements, qualifications, and airframe availability it isn't unreasonable to think not all CCT's are JTAC's. Numbers? No bloody clue.
