I would suspect this can fluctuate given a unit's specific mission and the current op tempo, but I'm trying to get educated before I go about entering into the following years of training for the PJ pipeline. I saw this following article: http://www.pasconnect.org/pa-student-in-midst-of-mount-everest-climb/
So clearly Mr. Gibson shows it can be done to pursue graduate medical education while a reservist serving as a PJ. I intend to continue my current six years of service retiring as a PJ in the reserve assuming some dedication pays off, so I'm interested to know what this actually looks like to be a medical or PA student and continue with your reserve obligation. From what I've gathered (I note Padawan's post here on SS regarding the 304th Rescue Squadron), summers will be full and academic breaks will be full with the unit to make up for lost time plus TDYs/weekly training and don't be surprised to be pulled for duty during a semester or two (or more). Obviously, this is down the road and first things first PJ training is of the utmost priority and singular vision, just trying to create some perspective early for a healthy expectation of reality. There is certainly always more to learn - a large part of what makes both career fields so attractive.
