Does anyone know what the SARC PRT requires? Is it the same as the NSW one? Sit ups? Push ups? Swimming? 1.5 mile run?

OK, so you have enlisted in the Navy as a Corpsman and now you're looking for answers. That's a good thing. Your approach, however, could use some work. In your intro, you asked for information on what it takes to become a SARC (or something along those lines). I provided that information by doing a simple Google search and clicking on the first link that came up, Wikipedia (all reliability issues aside). Now you're asking another question that you could probably find the answer to yourself. You're also missing something. The PST is comprised of: 500 yard swim, push ups, sit ups, PULL UPS and a 1.5 mile run. Threads like this are usually taken more seriously if you start off by saying something along the lines of: "Hey, I've searched for XYZ which led me to ABC website but they didn't have all the information I was looking for. Could someone please fill in the blank regarding..." That shows us a few things.
1) You're a self starter, not someone who wants to be spoon fed all the answers
2) You've already researched the path that you want to go down and now you just need a bit of information filled in here or there
Did you sign on as an HM and then learn about SARC or did you want to be a SARC and then found out that you have to start life as an HM? Did you look at the pipeline they go through? I almost shit myself just thinking about BRC, SERE, CDQC & SOCM...
Here's the thing, I did my research but I didn't do enough of it when I enlisted. I wanted to drive fast boats and shoot bad guys in the face but now, I'm stuck on a giant, gray, floating (barely) thing: chipping paint, sweeping water, painting rust, needle gunning paint, painting rust, grinding paint, painting rust...oh, and did I mention I'm in an advanced electronics rating who maintains multi-gazillion dollar weapons systems? It sounds like you have done next to no research and you want to be one of the baddest Docs in the military? Learn from my mistakes and do your research and do enough of it...then, do some more. All the questions you have asked here sound like conversations that should have been had with a recruiter before signing up. If the recruiter doesn't have the answers, they should be able to find you someone who does.
As far as your question goes, passing a PST should be something you can do with no issue on your worst day, in your sleep if you want to be a SARC.
Scubadew is an active duty HM looking at the SARC route, maybe he could chime in here with something more helpful.
I genuinely hope all/some of this helps.

Here's a couple of threads you should check out if you haven't already:

I sincerely hope we get to see you post in that second one after you have successfully completed the SARC pipeline.

Thank you very much and yes it is something I have done my research into! I came here looking for even more information to educate myself on this because there really is not a lot of it out there. I am aware of the long and rigorous training pipeline they go through and I picked the HM rate because I wanted to be a Corpsman regardless and yes I knew you had to start out as one. I also did know about this before signing up and had an interest in the HM field as a whole I researched and saw the SARC 8427 description figured it was something I wanted to try to attempt and achieve in my career . I have looked at the wikipedia page and many pages before this not coming up with a lot of information and Wikipedia is something I don't really bet all my eggs in one basket on I was just trying to get a good verification on the PST so I can make sure I was working on the right excercises for it thank you for that. My recruiter has no idea about this or what to do to move towards it which is why I came here for hope of more definitive answers. Thank you for correcting me for my intro because I really did do research and didn't mean to come off as wanting to be spoon fed the information or a clueless gung ho person. Thank you very much for the advice as it will help me aproach this with a better manner now as opposed to the spoon fed way. It's awesome to have people like you on here for this site to respond for these kinds of things to help out with the past experiences you've had because it's made me realized I did come to the right place much is very obliged! Thank you for the referral also take care.

1. From your questions it is obvious you did NOT do your research.
2. Use logical breaks in your writing so others can read what you write, and follow it without going blind.
3. Don't worry about the exercises in the PRT, worry about being in shape.
4. Worrying too much is the first step in failure.
5. Only use 1 word when it suffices, not 10 to look like you are saying something.
6. Quit trying to blow smoke up people's skirts, none of us like a brown noser.
7. Do, or Do not, there is no try.
8. Worry about each 25m target in sequence, you still have to make it through recruit training, then C school before you can advance to being a SARC.

Thank you for the advice and I apologize for my poor writing and punctuation. I wasn't trying to blow smoke up anyones skirt or brown nose anybody I was just trying to be thankful for the help I got from the reply which made me realized my aproach towards this.

I won't beat a dead horse here but it is obvious that you either didn't do your research or it's all Greek to you. A SARC package requires a PST under the same standards as NSW, the only difference is that you may do the run in sneakers and not boots/pants. Not to blow your mind but if/when you do make it to greenside you will most likely NOT be doing PRTs and instead you will be doing the Marine PFT. Get good at pull-ups!

NOW SAY IT FIVE TIMES FAST! "PRT,PST,PFT,PRT,PST,PFT,PRT,PST,PFT..."

Focus on what's in front of you and that's Basic. Be prepared for SOCP @ Ft. Sam and volunteer as soon as you get there, but don't forget you're there to graduate A-School.

EDIT: SOCP is a selection. They aren't there to coddle you. They have the power to give orders to deserving men.

I got it guys. Thank you for the wisdom. I definitley will keep researching and take it one step at a time.
