SECNAV: Climate Change is an "All Hands on Deck Moment"

Globalized issue. Bill Gates wants cows to stop farting and burping in the US. He wants us to stop eating meat or eat fake meat. This is one reason its worrisome that he owns so much farm land in America. Stop playing God, MF'ers.

There are two methane inhibitors, Bovaer and Angolin, that are being added to cattle feed. They're expensive. There hasn't been enough research to prove conclusively that they do what they're suppose to, or what effects they may have on the meat itself or on the humans that eat it.

So for now it's just more bullshit political veneer to appeal to the Greta Thunburgs, and more expenses to cause farmers (highest suicide rate of any profession) to keep offing themselves.

Honestly this thread was kinda wild. I probably knew how bad this was, I've always been an advocate for more and larger surface combatants and combatants with guns. Destroyers are not Cruisers, and building Destroyers larger to be more like Cruisers is dumb...as we saw from the LCS we should not be creating a jack of all trades. That's more was a Frigate is for...but even then there is a smaller ship before you get to littoral vehicles and that's a Corvette.

Reagan and his SECDEF and SECNAV had it right with a 600-ship navy. Our navy has been extremely and underwhelmingly undershipped for some time. I was hopeful with Trump but his goals never panned out.

We definitely need littorals; we have to be able to zoom around shallow water and shallow draft areas, but not at the expense of cruisers, carriers, destroyers, and frigates (which are actually horrible boats for blue water operations because of their size, they just bob around like a cork).

Which is funny because those replaced Destroyer Escorts which were designed for blue water work during WWII. Knox and Perry class frigates were quite larger than their WWII ancestors.

During WWII the Navy used Destroyer Escorts to great effect

I would not want to be on a DE either.

Frigate in heavy seas:

How some of those WW2-era (and earlier) ships transited the Atlantic and Pacific is beyond me.

Maybe it shouldn't but Bill Gates buying so much farmland asses me off. I don't think there is enough attention on it. He's a weird dude and it concerns me. He's made comments about controlling the population and we should be eating fake meat, cows need to stop farting, and other weird shit.

I've read things suggesting that hyper successful CEO business leader types like Bill Gates, Elon Musk, the Facepage dude that looks like a plastic faced cyborg, and even that bald headed guy from Amazon that treats his workers like rented mules, all tend to exhibit psychopathic tendencies.
In fact, there are studies that suggest that high performing business leaders demonstrate psychopathic tendencies at a rate of roughly 20% or, if you don't like percentages, about 1-in-5.

That can't be true - can it? So, are people telling me that when I list it out like this...
Bill Gates from Microsoft
Elon Musk from Space-X
Jeff Bezos from Amazon
Mark Zuckerberg from Facebook

Sergey Brin from Google
...that you can't at least for a moment, think that MAYBE there is a possibility that "1-In-5" business leaders really might just be bat shit crazy psychopaths that want to censor and limit your access to information, implant micro chips in everyone's brain, take over the worlds food supply, depopulate the planet, build a space ship, and then fly off to colonize Mars?

Me either.

Pair those guys with a bunch of egomaniacal government officials and look the fuck out.
