Looking for solutions for shooting headsets that allow shooters to hear instructions from the safeties/shooters while on the range. I'd prefer everyone to have two-way capability but would be OK with the coaches being about to transmit/talk with each other and the shooters being receive-only. For a team of approx. 30 people.

I like 3M/Peltor's LiteCom setup but it's kind of pricey. I've also checked out some various setups from Walker. I like my SIG headset with Bluetooth capability but the volume on the Bluetooth is very low, and I'm told that not everyone would be able to receive the same Bluetooth signal (only have the one headset so can't test that).

Looking for suggestions on what to consider.

How many people will be on the line at once? We used Peltors and had no problem hearing range commands (some of us did wear them backwards so the mics faced the instructor).

Any chance your shooters can plug the headsets into radios? That solves your problem as well.

Great questions and suggestions, thanks so much everyone.

We would have no more than 30 shooters total. Of those, a max of 5 would need to transmit, the others could be receive-only.

Max range is prob .25 mile, but most of our shooting is indoors at a small range with 22 lanes.

This is for 3-gun competition shooting so I don't want anything connected to a radio, I'd like everything self-contained.

Price is a consideration.

Right now I think the front runner might be the Walker's Recon with the optional mic attachment.

Sir, the RECON MUFFS or RAZOR [your link] options would be your best bet if on a tight budget.

One caution: Both setups advertise up to 3 miles for distance, but due to science [and I'm a scientist], I wouldn't trust these past 1 mile....

If all the sudden you get NASCAR type money, let me know...and we can relook our options!!!!

:ROFLMAO:

I used to compete using the bluetooth Walkers that were in ear for 2020 and stopped using them in 2021, the audio quality for the price point is good. However, the Bluetooth linking etc never worked and of shooters I know using the same, it was less than 50/50 if that functionality would work. It didn’t bother me since the audio quality was solid.

They were not the muffs but I’d avoid the in ear if looking at that option.

We got a quote from Peltor but it was in the tens of thousands of dollars. WAY out of our budget.

The Walker bluetooth-enabled Recon headsets were on sale for $33 on Amazon, and the Razor attachments were something like $60. I ordered three sets (next day delivery! thanks Prime) and we're going to try them on the outdoor range on Saturday. If they do what we need, we'll but a couple dozen more.
