BLUF: These guys were PMCs before it was cool and their stories are nothing less than fascinating.

The authors ran recon with MACV-SOG as did many of their cohorts. It is a light-hearted look at an industry we take for granted now. Security, recovering kidnap victims overseas, acting as brokers for the oil and gas industry and sketchy governments/ officials, training Mexican security officers to guard high profile civilians in Mexico...the list goes on.

They worked on 5 of 7 continents, doing the work well into their 60's. Brokhausen has written several books on his time in SF and Vietnam with this book covering his post military adventures. He is an engaging author and storyteller to say the least.

If you like stories, adventures really, of a pretty unknown and almost lawless period in military contracting, this one's for you. It would actually make a pretty good movie or three to be honest.

Just added it to my Audible. Gonna listen to this when I'm done with Tomorrow War: Serpent Road.
