Wanna know how bad things are in the Air Force?

They are running a pilot program to train pilots in Italy because the training pipeline is so broken.
Using a plane they did not pick when selecting a new trainer (first T-7 arrives in San Antonio 98(?) days from now).

The navy's pilot backlog is almost 2 years long, so two years from commission before they start. The Navy is trying to figure out how to fix that.

I read the article. I didn't see any indications that this was due to a broken training pipeline CONUS (understanding the nature of the outlet that published it), but concede that could be the case. But is this really much different from sending our officers to training programs like CGSC overseas?

The Navy just ended carrier qualification to earn your wings. I guess that’s now either on the RAG or first squadron assignment.

RAG from what I read, but the Air Boss is high on tech and AI he said a couple weeks ago it could potentially wait until they get to the boat (except for E-2).

The future of warfighting is combined, joint, and interagency. I'd be OK with us sending ten new officers to a NATO-accredited BOLC.
