4/18/2011 - Staff Sgt. Mark Bedell, 38th Rescue Squadron pararescueman, receives the Bronze Star Medal with Valor from Brig. Gen. Eugene Haase, Headquarters Special Operations Command director of force structure, requirements, resources and strategic assessments, during the Rescue Ball at Moody Air Force Base, Ga., April 15. Sergeant Bedell received this medal for his heroic actions while performing an urgent medical evacuation when his team came under enemy fire during a deployment to Afghanistan on July 29, 2009. Sergeant Bedell volunteered to stay on the ground and aid his team by holding their position as patients and other team members were evacuated. Both of these guys are absolutely amazing PJs. These excerpts are only the "tip of the iceberg." They're studs and true heroes. Good job Marks.
