Hello all, thanks for having me.
I am an 18 year young (about to turn 19) E-2 at MI AIT at Ft. Huachuca. I am a reservist, but I have a burning desire to go active duty. I went reserves because I wanted to become an infantry officer through ROTC, but my time in IET has changed my plans towards becoming an NCO.
My biggest drive in life, since elementary school, is to become an Army SOF soldier. I spend most of my free time physically and mentally preparing myself for the selection process and lifestyle I'd live thereafter if I make it. I spend most of my free time reading Army FMs, working out with the SOFlete program (I now have one of the highest PT scores in both my reserve and AIT units), communicating with SOF mentors, and in general just learning about the profession. I also enjoy marksmanship, socializing, and anything outside in general.
I have had a very short military career, since I am only 18. I did make Honor Grad at BCT (not that it means anything on paper), and throguh that learned quite a bit about motivating people. I also made the Gold GAFB medal, which I am extremely proud of. My reserve unit fully supports me going active, so when I do that in a few months after AIT graduation, I will do so under 11X. My recruiting office said they'd try to get me Option 40 and airborne, so I'm doing my best to prepare mentaly and physically for that. I've already read the Ranger manual, and am learning all I can about RASP. Serving in the Regiment is my biggest dream right now.
I really have no other career plans than SOF, so I've basically implemented a burn the ships mentality.
Thanks for having me, and I hope to find some more mentors!
