Hello,

I have no prior military experience. I am 34 and about to turn 35. I've walked into a couple of recruiters offices in the past, but I am finally serious about enlisting with a rep 63 contract in the National Guard, intending to become a medical sergeant.
I'm on here with some questions and to ask some advice.
I'm not in great shape, fairly underweight, and fairly weak -- in my own estimation. What I do have going for me is that, once I made this decision -- I felt like I was already in the unit; my concerns were already about deployment and whatnot. In pretty poor shape like this, I'm still able to summit 14000 foot peaks in half the time as people I'm with that are training. Of course, I've looked at some of the workouts guys are doing on here, and could not do them right now.
Between now and basic I have a little over 2 months. I've been told this is plenty of time to get in shape.
Hoping to get some help, maybe find a training partner and get some advice.

cheers,
Mike

Welcome!

Welcome to SS. I think your intro was pretty good, and honest. We do take pride in seeing ShadowSpear members succeed at what they are aiming for. Look through the fitness threads, and through Mentor Groups in the "Groups" area. This will give you some ideas for fitness, and how others are preparing for their goals.

Best of luck!
