I'm finally part of the SOF community, having recently completed training for the 160th. I have lurked for the past year as a visitor, gleaning some good intel on everything from Green Platoon prep to gear purchases, and I hope to repay this forum with some worthy contributions. Being new to the regiment, I'll keep this brief and vague in the interest of OPSEC. I'm currently stateside, bathing in hydraulic fluid and breathing a lot of JP-8 fumes, embarking on a journey to become FMQ'd to deploy with the baddest aviators on the planet.
Personally, my interests are widely varied. I worked for a decade in the civilian world before signing my life over to Uncle Sam. I trained to become a sommelier (wine nerd), managed a fine dining restaurant, went to school for Business and Marketing, managed a custom sportswear manufacturing company, and worked as a stage manager for some huge music festivals. I enjoy cooking, snowboarding, surfing, and Brazilian Jiu Jitsu. My wife is the coolest person I have ever met, and the perfect partner for my chosen polymathic life of chaotic careers. When my 20 is up, we plan to retire on a sailboat, dropping anchor wherever we please, for however long it takes to slake our thirst for adventure.
