Buried WW1 munitions still being cleaned up in D.C. Suburb

That's pretty cool. There is a national guard camp nearby, in WWII it was a pretty big Army base, they are still finding WWII munitions and more than occasionally UO.
 
I think the site used to be where the manufactured latex...possibly a former importer/exporter business...ah, hell, maybe an architect firm.

I do remember they collaborated on a project with Pennypacker though.
 
IIRC there's a whole cottage industry in Germany based on looking at contemporary photos of allied bombings (and cleanup reporting) and plotting where there is likely to be UXO in preparation for construction.
