Seeing as to the similarities in Indoc and some of the pipeline?
Although the Combat Control Selection Course (CCSC) has some similarities to the PJ Development Course which is "immediately" followed by the PJ Indoc Course there are significant differences.

The CCSC is two weeks in length compared to the 11 days of the PJ Development Course immediately followed by the 44 days of the PJ Indoc Course. Also Combat Dive Qualification Couse and MFF is not part of the 3-level training pipeline for CCT.

As far as mentorship, after passing PAST, TAPAS and MEPS medical exam your recruiter is supposed to set you up with contact with the Special Operations Recruiting Liaison. So I be somewhat confused as to what mentorship you are expecting.

@Johca our site has a mentor section. In which potential SOF applicants can ask and receive guidance from SOF members. That is what the member was referring to.

Would it be wise to ask for the PJs guidance? Seeing as to the similarities in Indoc and some of the pipeline?
Yeah man, you can. I can help get you in the right direction. Check out the Pararescue and SOF mentor sub forum- it might not be 100% what you're looking for, but it'll be close. I will ask around and see if I can't find a resource to help out.
I think Max24S (sic?) is a CCT, but I've only seen him post on here a couple times.
Yep- he's just not that active.

ETA- clarification on the mentor sub's

Certainly this site has a mentor section as does a few other forums. However it is the extent of the coaching and teaching mentoring being desired and the results expectation being hoped for I should have made a bit more clearer in my previous comment.

In responding to his mentor question I also took into account (1) his intro disclosure of "I am training for a contract for CCT. I recently passed my passed test" and (2) Air Force Recruiting procedural guidance policy to all recruiters of "Contact information on all PJ, CCT and SOWT applicants will be provided to the responsible SORLs by AFRS/RSO for the purpose of informing, motivating and mentoring BA applicants as they prepare for INDOC." SORL is acronym for Special Operations Recruiting Liaison who is either a current CCT, PJ, or SOW doing these duties.

The 24th Special Operations Wing Recruiting Squadron is at Hurlburt and it has 16 Operating locations scattered around the country to support the numerous Air Force Recruiting Service Groups, Squadrons, and Operating Locations.

IMO considering his currently in process of enlisting status he has access to a SORL that has a duty purpose to more or less mentor the recruit (him) in DEP trying to get the GTEP enlistment contract and the EAD date to become PJ, CCT, SOW and perhaps maybe TACP.

Just saying that maybe they could help him out a bit.

Just saying you are way, way, WAY outside of your lane here. You should offer advice on a SOF pipeline like I should tell NASA how to train astronauts.

Doesn't Special Tactics have a couple of CCTs?
Not at the moment. When the servers crashed back in November the ones who were active on the forums as Mods have not yet gotten back as registering. As the domain owner was out of country for several months at the time it was down for several months and only very recently got up and running again.

However that being the admins can reach out to the retired CCT CMSgt who as a civilian works in 24th Special Operation Wing Plans, Programs & Special Projects (XP) and few others I can reach out and get answers from if needed. The need seldom arises as many questions are G2ing in nature or confidence building in nature more so than questions needing to be directed to current AFSOC and ACC MAJCOM OPRs and CFMs or to HQ AETC.

I do not butt in too much on the mentor forums here as the AF info being put out is reliable as to being current and accurate info.

I did butt in here in this question as although the quality of student the PJ, CCT, and SOW training pipeline from course of initial entry (COIE) to first duty assignment is the same, the training path does have differences particularly at the COIE start. Most of it is connected to number of training days and differences in preparing the student to be trained learning objectives. Most of these learning objective differences is driven by when in relation to the AFSC awarding apprentice course is completed in relation to MFF qualification course and Combat Diver Qualification Course.

Even so there is no guaranteed or most likely pass cookie cutter before COIE preparation for any of the COIEs. If there was a cookie cutter preparation solution the high student attrition rates (failure to successfully complete the course) at the COIEs would have been reduced to below 50% decades ago.

Ok, I knew that it had gone down, but not that none of the CCTs came back. Sorry about that.

Alright, great talk everyone.

@Lockdown you should have a jumping off point. PM me with other questions if they arise, after doing your own due diligence to get them figured out.

@Raptor - you get all the shhhhhhhhh I have to offer. I'd like to publicly discourage you from taking part in any conversations until you get some time/experience under your belt.

If there isn't anything else, I'll just go ahead and lock this thing down, mmmmmk?
