Hi all, not sure where to post this.

I'm an 18x shipping out in a couple of weeks. Since I signed my contract in February, I've been trying to figure out what my contract means. My recruiters are no help and I've seen people elsewhere online with similar questions. My contract is broken down as such:

"PREREQ - 15 weeks X days - BENN
PREREQ - 5 weeks X days - BENN
OSUT - 2 weeks X days - BENN"

Nothing for Bragg (SOPC, selection). It's an 18x contract, so don't bother joking about me getting punked. My recruiter said the 15 week section is BCT, the 2-3 week section is airborne and the 5 week is specific 18x training. He then said I'd go to Bragg for SOPC... but then he said that the 5 week section is SOPC... which is listed as taking place at Benning. I didn't press the issue further as he clearly didn't know for sure. He had also said that I'd be getting the 22 week OSUT so I have no idea what to believe.

Basically, I have no idea. I'm not really worried, but it'd be nice to generally know what my contract means.

Thanks.

Excellent, you shouldn't be. MEPS paperwork is frequently inaccurate and fucked up when it comes to SOF pipelines, don't let it bother you. If it makes you feel any better, I recall my own 18X paperwork being equally as messed up as your's is, and that was back in 2012. Some things never change, huh? The actual sequence of events, while out there and easily found, is not of importance; your ability to execute and successfully pass each phase of training that you happen to find yourself in is.

Basically, I have no idea.

If you have no idea and would like to obtain one, use the plethora of open source information available on the internet to acquaint yourself with the pipeline that you aspire to complete.

This applies to life and not just the military; do not enter into contracts that you don't understand. Always strive to educate and arm yourself with as much knowledge as possible. Trying to figure things out after the fact, when the information was available beforehand, is a backward ass way of doing things and is most certainly going to get you and/or others fucked sooner or later.

Focus your thoughts and efforts on things that matter, such as preparing yourself physically and mentally to crush whatever the pipeline throws at you. You have an 18X contract in hand. What you need to do from this point on is not the easiest, but it sure as shit is simple; stay hungry, make it happen, and never quit. Good luck in your upcoming endeavors dude!
