Cortisone to the lumbar.

FWIW they put the injections in the WRONG PLACE. They put them in my L5 instead of my L4 which is why I haven't had surgery yet. Now I have to wait until Feb to try another round in the right place. As a correction to the thread title, they are steroid injections, not cortisone.

I understand your position and agree with it for most circumstances but with 3 worn inter-vertebrae and the choice between injections that eat away healthy tissue as well, or an operation permanently connecting 3 vertebrae I m happy with this solution. Sort of mix between chiropractor, fysiotherapist and then some.
Puts all in line for a couple of months after each "cracking" session and relieves the tension on small muscles because of lower back being out of line.
Age is part of the problem plus over 25 years of jomping with above 35kg backpacks. Ah well
