Stalemate is usually the only term for victory in COIN, but you're not helping your chances for achieving even that if you broadcast your exit date on CNN. Since all your enemy has to do to win is wait for you to leave, might as well let them think you might stick it out for another decade.

Dunford is a tough cat. And unlike his predecsessor he's a Leg and might not be as pliable in the hands of his civilian bosses. We'll see. Amos came out strong against the repeal of DADT in the beginning of his appointment and quickly got herded back in line where he's remained.
