Col. Carney wrote a great book about the early days of Air Force SOF called "No Room for Error". If you've ever been interested about early CCT efforts, it's a really good read.

John T. Carney retired as a Colonel. The CCT officers of that era that made it to flag rank are BGen Michael A. Longoria and BGen Robert Holmes. I worked for or with all three of them. In fact I know many in this video as result of working with themin one way or another. He did write an excellant written and accurate book--No Room for Error, The Covert Operations of America's Special TacticsUnits from Iran to Afganistan."

Unfortunatly though, in my parts when you say "Combat Control", in the minds of many the first thing that comes to mind is directing air/bomb strikes.
