From the article it sounds like they didn't have enough evidence for a 100% sure conviction at this time. Since you can only be tried once for the same crime they may be gathering more before they move forward, maybe trying to turn some of the johns. Better to have him locked up on lesser charges while you gather what you need for the more serious ones. Who knows though.

I think the other direction, they had enough evidence to throw him under the bus and rip up the bus, road, and surrounding atmosphere and throw it into the Mariana trench... but they want (rightfully) to go after everyone else that facilitated and de-facto condoned this whole fucking shitshow by partaking in his services. Especially since there's no damn way the johns didn't know where he was sourcing his product.

Because he plead to the charges, they won't bring them back up as that was part of the plea agreement. As to why they didn't pursue the harsher chargers, it could be any number of things. Most of the time, in those types of cases...the victim's don't want to rehash and relive the past and without their testimony and further involvement with the trial, there is a lesser chance of conviction.

It's not the first prostitution ring and won't be the last. But for a SRNCO to take advantage of new incoming troops like this, and to walk away with only two years, is IMHO, inexcusable.

Agree, but for SrNCO's, and Officers of all ranks to use their services is inexcusable, and a worse offense in my opinion.

My wife thinks he already gave testimony in exchange for a light sentence, so they start nailing O's and E's slowly, surely, working up the rank tree.

Me thinks a lot of the Senior Individuals retired as soon as the pimp was busted, but we will see.
