If you'd like some background on me, please see my NG 18 Series/Federal LEO post which is functionally my introduction post. In short, I'm a 35N who will soon be going to 20th Group.

I've been browsing posts pertaining to 35 series in SF Groups, as well as researching SOT-A, SOT-B, and any other opportunities that might be available for 35 series. I understand that 35Ps are more likely to end up with SOT-A, while 35Ns like myself are more likely to be stuck in the SCIF with SOT-B. I don't want to come across as someone who's already disgruntled with my MOS choice. I haven't even been to the unit yet, and I understand that it's what I signed up for, so I intend to do the best at it that I can, even if I will be stuck in a windowless room.

That said, I am still far more oriented towards being out and about. I've discussed interest in 18 series in my previous post, but that is likely to be farther down the road for various reasons. I also wouldn't want to run out on the MICO before giving them what they paid for.

QUESTIONS: I've seen some discussion on training opportunities and opportunities for SOT-A assignment for 35Ns. For anyone with knowledge on Group MI, what does that look like for 35Ns? I know school availability is relatively higher if I prove to be worth anything, but how far can that go? I've seen some individuals say that even some 18 series schools may be available for 35 series, but they didn't say which. I recall even seeing a chart in Marauder06's paper on the problem of the quality of MI support soldiers in SF Groups that made it seem like MI soldiers could attend the 18F course, but I don't know if that was what he meant to convey.

As I've hinted, I am also interested in SOT-A. I have personally met one 35N who was in SOT-A at 10th Group, and I've seen various posts saying it's sometimes possible, but I'd like to know if anyone has further information on the possibilities there.

I understand that some might think it's best to just ask these questions at my unit, but I figured it would not be best to be asking for these things fresh out of AIT. I don't want to come across as someone who's chasing schools and has little interest in doing their actual job, because that's not the case.
