Hey everyone,
I’m new to the forum and wanted to introduce myself. I’m a student planning to pursue the Navy SEAL pipeline after college. I’m here to learn as much as I can from people who have actually walked the path.
I’m fully aware that BUD/S isn’t about hype or motivation — it’s about discipline, standards, and consistency. I’m not here with fantasies about combat; I’m here because I respect the community and want to understand exactly what is expected before I even consider attempting it.
Right now, my focus is on:
• Building a solid foundation for the PST (swim, pushups, situps, pullups, run)
• Improving water confidence safely and correctly
• Developing durability to avoid injuries
• Understanding what “good” prep actually looks like vs overtraining
I’d really appreciate any advice from prior SEALs or SOF members on how to structure training, common mistakes to avoid, and what mental preparation truly matters.
Not looking for shortcuts — just looking for reality and guidance from people who’ve earned the right to speak on it.
Any direction is appreciated.
