To everyone here at ShadowSpear.com, both active, retired, or future duty, this is my introduction.
I am university art student at UC Irvine and upon graduation I plan on serving our country in great ways. I want to do something extraordinary with my life while I'm still young and able. I see special operations as my chance. I want to make a difference in the lives of others around me and while I respect all military personnel regardless of status, rank, gender, or branch, I personally see myself doing nothing short of special operations. (An art major thinking of doing special ops? Yeah I know, I have an odd set of skills and interests.)
I try to challenge my mental strength as well as my physical strength on a daily basis. I want to thrive in the special operations courses I put myself through, not just survive and make the average or minimum. I want to be a leader and set the bar high for my peers and be in a positive light with my instructors. Balancing school and training is not always easy but I'm making the most of my time here. I aim to sharpen myself as much as possible to prepare for such a rigorous lifestyle that special operations presents.
My goals are to join the Marine Force Recon or Navy SEAL programs in the near future. They both offer an extraordinary chance to better myself and to serve in ways that are very important in today's world. While different, they both offer me a great challenge that not many have reached before, and that's why they both appeal to me.
My grandfather, now deceased, served in Army infantry in WWII and my uncle as a Navy SEAL in recent conflicts, but now retired. They've set the bar high but also shown what's possible. I know I can do whatever I set my sights on.
I don't need easy, I need possible.
