Intro of awesome

Thanks tx. My recruiter didn't give me the idea it was something I put together as a pre-recruiter plan. I keep trying relentlessly to get a hold of the only recruiter close to me but he never calls me back. And help/advice would be great. Don't quite know what the best way to do this is so I welcome knowledge from the people who have gone through it already.

Have you tried physically GOING a recruiters office? More than once? I find it hard to believe a recruiter wont call you back. They live with their gov phones on them and the way there job performance is evaluated it behooves them to talk to as many interested and qualified applicants.

This is simple shit. If you want it, go get it. I basically changed my mind and backed out when I initially signed up for the military then screwed off in college a few more months. After I realized my mistake, my recruiter was gone. So i had to drive all over north texas until i found one.

I cant, for the life of me, understand why you would want to go security forces first then cross train to PJ. Im not gonna spoon feed you the answer to why thats a horrible idea. Do your homework. Simmer on your new found knowledge, then direct your answer to me via PM and any further questions in the SOF mentor forum.

Noooo not security forces, law enforcement. And nope haven't signed the paperwork yet.

1. Get off your ass and go to the Recruiters Office (same advice I gave my son)

2. Law Enforcement=AF Security Forces
Base Defense=AF Security Forces
Small Arms Trainers=Security Forces

Security Forces, a big happy fuck your buddy in the ass career field.

3. Go see a Recruiter, odds of you going to Basic before 30 September are real slim; get in shape pass the PAST and go in as a Pararescue Trainee.

or join the Coast Guard.

I know it's hard to believe but the guy won't call me back. I have not tried going up to him. Call me stupid, but I figured you needed some kind of time set up with the recruiter because they are busy, so I'll drive up the next chance I get.

As for the security forces, it spawned from me wanting to be a U.S. Marshal when I get out, so I figured I should try to get some law enforcement experience while I was in, which by the sound of it I need to do a little more research.

Setting up an appointment is great, but just dropping in will get you a face to face, and you can make a follow-up appointment if required.
Recruiters have more people then slots, so show him you are worth the effort.

Damn it. What I would give to be able to go back and do it differently with you guys as resources.

Thanks for the info. I'm gonna head up next chance I get.
